Proposed screening protocol on basis of clinical signs and symptoms which can be used in peripheral areas/areas with limited medical facilities. If a patient with diabetes and COVID and/or any 3 risk factors (as per flowchart) presents to the clinic, and they have facial/eye pain, immediately refer to higher centre for imaging and endoscopy. If no facial/eye pain, perform ENT examination—if it is abnormal, viz. nasal crusting/bleeding/eye symptoms—refer to higher centre as above; if ENT examination normal, explain danger signs and perform twice daily follow-up
