Nitric oxide (NO; μM, a), interleukin-6 (IL-6; pg/ml, b), and leptin (pg/ml, c) production by control and LPS-stimulated murine macrophages (RAW264.7) and adipocytes (3T3-L1). Adipokine concentrations in control and LPS-stimulated cells were compared using a Student’s t test. Data represent least squares means ± SEM of 4 independent experiments. There was no quantifiable leptin production by RAW 264.7 cells. Significant treatment differences are represented with an asterisk (*) (p < 0.05)
