Schematic illustration demonstrates the consequences of nanotoxicity. NPs-correlated toxicity could result in oxidative stress caused by ROS generation, apoptosis, cytotoxicity, and genotoxicity. The anti-viral potential of NPs might be ascribed to these nanotoxicity-associated mechanisms, through enhancing mitochondrial-apoptotic pathways. In case of non-selective toxicity, these mechanism might cause damage to the mammalian cells
